Jan Holenda is a striker of FC Rostov. He was born on 22 August 1985 in Prague, Czech Republic.
Jan trained at football school Sparta Prague. From 2003 till 2004, the player performed for the capital club Sparta Prague B, thereafter he moved on loan to FK Drnovice. In the 2005/2006 season, the Czech striker played for Slovan Liberec, which won Czech Republic Football Cup. At the beginning of 2007, Jan Holenda was loaned out to FC Dynamo by SK České Budějovice, where he performed for six months and then moved back to AC Sparta Prague. Thereafter the footballer was loaned to FK SIAD Most. In 2008, Jan became a first team player of Sparta.
In January 2010, Jan Holenda undersigned a three-year contract with FC Anzhi Makhachkala.
Holenda performed for all the Czech Republic youth teams, except U-17. In 2006/2007 the footballer played in the Czech Republic U-21 team.
