Jeremain Lens is a striker of Dynamo Kyiv. He was born on 24 November 1987 in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Jeremain learned how to handle a ball in Spartaan, where he performed for the youth team. Soon the young footballer passed a trial in the academy of Ajax, from where he moved first to Omniworld and then to the youth system of AZ.
Lens made his way through all levels of the academy and graduated to the main team of Alkmaar Zaanstreek. The striker made 15 appearances during his début 2005/2006 season and completed a season-long loan move to NEC in the summer 2007. Jeremain was the pivot of the temporary team throughout his spell. The head coach trusted the young footballer and saw his scoring flair. By the end of the 2007/2008 season, Lens featured in 31 games and found the net nine times.
After the end of his temporary spell, the striker spent another two years in his parent AZ. In the 2009/2010 season, Jeremain took part in all matches for the club, which took his tally to 55 appearances and 13 goals for Alkmaar Zaanstreek during four years (excluding one year on loan).
In 2010 PSV Eindhoven sealed a deal with the footballer, who managed to take part in 96 games and amass 34 goals for the new club till June 2013. At that time he transferred to Dynamo Kyiv.
From 2007 till 2008, Lens performed for the Netherlands national U-21 squad and contributed one goal in eight fixtures. In August 2010, the striker received his first call-up to the full national squad for the match against Ukraine, where he managed to impress by scoring a brace.
