João Luiz Ramires Vieira was born on 20 December 1985 in Brazil.
He is a product of Rio Branco’s academy where he started his football career. In 2007 João Luiz penned his first professional agreement with this Brazilian club. However the young footballer wasn’t given a chance to unlock his potential because he stayed on the bench for half a year.
Failing to play a single match for Rio Branco, João changed his club moving to the Portuguese outfit Marítimo in 2007. He made his debut for this club in December 2007. Though João was a reserve player during virtually all the season, he benefited from the experience of more skilled footballers. Luiz dedicated much time to trainings and scored his debut goal for Marítimo in April 2008. The footballer began to get into the starting line-up more often netting once in 21 games for two seasons. João Luiz plays with Marítimo until now getting into the starting eleven more often.
