At the very beginning of his career Juanan played at three football clubs. The first one was San Pedro in 1995 when Juanan was only 12. For nine years young Spanish boy gained experience. Later he managed to enter Mallorca youth football school. Then Juanan moved to FC San Francisco.
The player’s senior career started at Deportivo de La Coruña, where he appeared in 71 matches and scored 5 goals. For this club Juanan also played in the UEFA Cup match against AaB Fodbold, replacing Filipe Luís. He could have continued representing the club, but was lured by an opportunity not to miss. He was offered to join a reserve team of Real Madrid. Juanan featured in 53 matches, but soon realized that there was no chance for him to get into the major squad, so he had to look for a new club. Later he moved to Fortuna Düsseldorf.
After 2 years with the German side Juanan moved to Hungarian side Ujpest.
Juanan made his official debut with the new club on 24 July 2011, playing just three minutes in the match against SC Paderborn 07. Juanan has made 150 total appearances and netted 7 goals since then.
