Julian Bennett is a back of Southend United. He was born on 17 December 1984 in Nottingham Forest, England.
In 1993, Julian joined the academy of Nottingham Forest and spent three years with the junior squad of the club, which helped him to adapt to the football world and gain the initial experience. In 1998, the player moved to the youth system of Scunthorpe United, but did not stay there for long, because Walsall scouts lured him into their academy in 1999. It took Bennett five years to perfect his workmanship and give a final touch to all the preparations for a senior start.
In 2004, the back put pen to paper of his first professional contract and netted three goals in 51 fixtures for ‘The Saddlers’ during two years. Julian managed to draw the attention of various English teams, but Nottingham Forest was first to lodge a tempting bid for him. In the summer 2006, the footballer sealed a deal with his boyhood club and fired eight goals in 95 matches for ‘The Foresters’ before completing a loan move to Crystal Palace, where he found the net one time in 13 games during his spell.
In 2011, Bennett penned a long-term contract with Sheffield Wednesday and made several appearances for the new team, but the management decided to send him on loan to Shrewsbury Town, where the back featured in four games. After returning to ‘The Owls’, Julian took his tally to two goals in 21 matches before switching for Southend United.
