A Senegalese footballer Lamine Gassama is a defender of Lorient.
His career began in the neighborhood of Marseille, where he was born. Before Lamine moved to Aubagne, a club from his hometown, he had spent two years with the team of Martigues. There, he was noticed by the coaching staff of Olympique Lyonnais and decided to join its academy the next year.
On 2 September 2008, the Senegalese footballer got his senior career started off. He managed to be an anchor player during five years. On 29 October 2008, he featured the field in a match against Sochaux for the first time. For Gassama there was no easing up until the match was over.
In 2012, Lamine tied up a deal with Lorient, after his spell with Lyonnais had ran out.
He got three calls-up for the France national team. He played at U-21 level. Gassama acted for the Senegal national squad in a demo against Morocco in the summer 2011. The finale of the game wasn’t successful for Lamine’s team: Morocco won by 2 goals to zero.
