Luciano Zauri is a right back for Pescara. He was born on 20 January 2978 in Pescina, Italy.
Luciano’s youth career started at Atalanta B.C. youth academy, where for 2 years he successfully studied and played with the club’s youth team during various competitions.
In 1996 Zauri signed his first professional contract with Atalanta. The debut 1997/98 season though he spent playing on loan at Serie A side Chievo with a total of 24 appearances. After returning to Atalanta Luciano found himself being included in the starting line-up often. From 1997 to 2003 Zauri played 153 matches and scored 2 goals for the home club.
In 2003 Luciano attracted attention of S.S. Lazio. The Biancazzurri scouts informed the management that Zauri could potentially become an essential part of the first team. Lazio offered Atalanta €5.6 million for the defender and the latter agreed to the terms. In the summer of 2003 Zauri officially joined Lazio on a long-term contract. During the following 5 years Luciano was a key right back for Lazio and featured in practically every match of the club. In 2008 Zauri was not in great shape and the head coach decided to loan him for a season to Fiorentina where he made 18 appearances and scored 1 goal during the 2008/09 season. From 2009 to 2011 Luciano was a loaned player for Sampdoria. During 2 seasons at la Samp Luciano became a key defender totaling 59 appearances. At present, Zauri plays for Pescara.
From 1995 to 1996 Luciano was capped 15 times for Italy U-17 and U-18. From 2001 to 2006 Zauri earned 5 caps representing Italy.
