Matthew Jarvis is a midfielder of West Ham United. He was born on 22 May 1986 in Middlesbrough, England.
In 2003 Matthew joined Gillingham and his professional career took off. The midfielder got a real opportunity to show his best qualities in the debut season and made ten appearances. Jarvis showed more confident performance year after year and developed his best midfielder qualities, getting more and more playing practice. During his last two seasons in Gillingham, Matthew was one of the pivots of midfield and netted nine goals in 70 games for the club.
In 2007 several clubs from various English divisions took an interest in the footballer. Wolverhampton had not earned promotion to the Premier League by that time yet, but that option was evidently better for Jarvis then continuing to play in the Football League One. The club decided to see the midfielder in action and penned a six-month loan contract with him. Matthew managed to show his outstanding skills during his spell and the management sealed a deal with him on permanent basis.
After signing for Wolves, the footballer continued his successful performance there and came on the field rather often. That meant Jarvis’s professionalism got to the following stage and his level of trust with the head coach increased. During his entire spell till 2007 till 2012, the midfielder made 164 appearances and fired 19 goals for the club.
In August 2012, Matthew transferred to West Ham United.
In 2011 Jarvis took part in a friendly of the Three Lions, coming on as a substitute 20 minutes before the final whistle.
