Mauricio Pinilla is a striker that plays for Cagliari. He was born on February 4, 1984 in Santiago, Chile.
Pinilla’s professional career started in 2002 when he joined his first professional team - Universidad Chile. Mauricio’s brilliant performance in the debut season with 20 goals in 39 matches was noticed by the Italian Serie A side Internazionale scouts.
In the summer of 2003 Mauricio signed a contract with the Milan club and moved to Italy. There he was immediately loaned to Chievo, where he spent six months and made 6 appearances by January 2004. From January 2004 to 2007 Pinilla played for Celta, Sporting CP, Racing Santander, Hearts and his former Universidad Chile.
In 2007 Mauricio penned a deal with Scottish Premier League Hearts, where prior to that he was a loaned player. In the summer of 2008 Mauricio was transferred to Vasco da Gama and made only 3 appearances during the 2008/09 season. In 2009 Pinilla played for Apollon Limassol and Grosseto, making a total of 29 appearances and scoring 26 goals.
In 2010 Mauricio returned to Italy signing a permanent contract with Palermo. During year and a half at Palermo the Chilean striker scored 10 goals in 35 matches. In January 2012 Pinilla joined Cagliari on loan, later accepting a permanent contract. Pinilla made 15 appearances and found the target 8 times this season..
Since 2003 Mauricio is called up to play for Chile national team with 22 caps and 5 goals.
