Argentine footballer Mauro Boselli was born on 22 May 1985 in Buenos Aires.
The product of Boca Juniors youth system, Mauro signed a professional contract with the club in 2003. However, due to high competition at the club he had to struggle hard for a regular place in the first team. In the 2005/06 season, Boselli was sent on loan to Málaga B from the Spanish second division to gain more experience.
In 2008, Boselli signed for Estudiantes that turned to be the most fruitful spell in his career. He got off to an impressive start scoring 8 goals in 15 matches of the 2008 Apertura thus winning a ticket to the 2009 Copa Libertadores. Boselli cut a brilliant figure there as he netted a winning goal in a final match against Cruzeiro leading Estudiantes to the title. Moreover, he pulled off as the top scorer of the tournament with 8 goals. Overall, Boselli scored 33 goals in 58 appearances for the side.
In 2010, the Argentine striker moved to the English Premier League to sign for Wigan Athletic. However, the things went awry with the English side with Boselli even gaining a reputation of the club's worst ever foreigner. That’s why he spent the reminder of the 2010/11 season on loan at Italian club Genoa and after that moved on loan to his former club Estudiantes becoming the Argentine Primera División top scorer with 11 goals in 29 games in the 2011/12 campaign. In January 2013, the Argentine moved on loan to Palermo in Italian Serie A.
Upon returning from Italy he signed a new deal with a Mexican side Club Leon.
Mauro Boselli is capped to the Argentina national team since 2009.
