Mišo Brečko is a footballer from Slovenia, born in 1984. He began to play football at the youth academy of Rudar Trbovlje and then joined the youth ranks of Factor Ljubljana. He graduated from Factor Ljubljana and had a short stay with the first squad. In 2003 /04 Brečko played for Šmartno ob Paki, competing in the Slovenian First League (the PrvaLiga). He moved to Germany in July 2004 signing for Hamburger SV. Where he appeared in seven games during his first season and then was sent on loan to Hansa Rostock for the 2005/06 season. The 2006/07 season Brečko spent with Erzgebirge Aue on loan and then returned to Hamburger SV. In the summer of 2008 he signed for 1. FC Köln, where he still plays, he had extended his contract in 2010 up to the year of 2013.
Mišo Brečko is a Slovenian international. He was a part of the U17, U19 and U21 teams. On 17 November 2004 he earned his first cap for the Slovenia national team in the match against Slovakia.
