Ronaldo Aparecido Rodrigues, better known as Naldo, was born on 10 September 1982 in Londrina, Brazil.
Naldo was fostered in the RS Futebol Clube academy, before joining the first team of the club, where he played till 2004. The next year Rodrigues joined the first division side Juventude, taking part in 36 games and scoring 8 goals for the club. Having spent one year with Juventude, the defender became one of the best young talents of the tournament, due to which he was transferred to German SV Werder Bremen for €3 million. Ronaldo scored his debut Champions League goal on 18 October 2006 in the match against PFC Levski Sofia.
On 19 May 2007 Naldo extended his contract with the club until 2009, and then for three more seasons. However, despite a great start, in May 2010 Rodrigues sustained a serious injury, which took him out of action. The defender returned to Bundesliga action on 10 September 2011, appearing for Bremen in the 5th Round of the championship as a sub for Claudio Pizarro. Ronaldo was a paramount figure in the club with 20 goals in 167 matches as a back.
On 18 July 2012 Rodrigues moved to VfL Wolfsburg on a four-year deal.
On 14 March 2007 the talented defender received a call-up from the Brazil national team. He appeared in the friendly matches versus Turkey and England in 2007. Soon Naldo earned himself 2 more international caps, but in 2009 he ended his career in the national squad.
