Nicola Belmonte plays as a defender for Siena. He was born on April 15, 1987 in Cosenza, Italy.
During several years Belmonte was trained at the Bari football academy and then in 2004 he signed his first professional contract with this club. He was immediately loaned to another football team, where he could gain some experience of playing on the professional level. In the 2004/2005 season Nicola Belmonte was temporarily on loan to Melfi where he played in 8 matches. When he returned to Bari, from time to time he earned a place in the starting eleven but he didn’t manage to become the team’s key player. For three seasons from 2005 to 2008 Belmonte took part in 55 matches for Bari.
In 2008 the footballer caught the eye of the Italian Serie A club Siena. It took some time to agree on the transfer price for the defender. By the summer 2008 all the problems were solved and Belmonte signed a long-term contract with Siena. The debut season for the new team was not quite successful for Nicola, because he appeared on a field only once, so he obviously was disappointed. After the 2008/2009 season Siena authorities decided to loan Belmonte to Bari, which was familiar to the defender. For the 2009/2010 and 2010/2011 seasons he often got into the starting line-up, the team trusted in him and knew his potential. The defender took part in 44 matches for two years. After returning from Bari, Belmonte started appearing on a field in the starting eleven. Today he is a member of the Siena current squad.
