Pele van Anholt is a midfielder of Heerenveen. He was born on 23 April 1991 in Sneek, Netherlands.
Pele began to play football in the academy of Bolsward, where he drew the attention of Heerenveen scouts. It took the footballer seven years to pass every youth level and join the main team of the club at the beginning of 2009. In March the same year, van Anholt penned a contract with Heerenveen, where he continues to perform at the position of a defensive midfielder and wears number 46 shirt.
In the 2010/2011 season, the player was sent on a season-long loan to Emmen, where he made his professional début on 3 September 2010 in the away 1-1 draw with Veendam. The same year Pele got an injury and was sentenced to spend the rest of the season without football.
The footballer returned to his parent Heerenveen and made his first appearance for the club on 22 October 2011 in the away 4-1 victory over Utrecht. On 20 April 2012, the management of the club extended van Anholt’s contract till 30 June 2014. The midfielder made 11 appearances for Heerenveen during one season, but did not manage to find the net.
