Petro Kovalchuk is a defender of the football club Chornomorets Odesa. He was born on May 28, 1984 in a town of Seredny Maydan, Ukraine.
Petro started his professional career in 2001 when he signed for Chornohora. The player spent four years at the club making a total of 64 appearances during that period. In 2005 the footballer moved to Spartak on a permanent basis where he spent two more fairly successful campaigns amassing 52 matches for the side.
In 2007 Petro Kovalchuk was purchased by Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih. The period was much more productive for the defender who appeared in 45 games and scored once during that time. In 2009 Kovalchuk moved to another Ukrainian side named Dniester where he stayed for one year during which he managed 7 appearances with 1 goal. In 2010 Kovalchuk switched to a football club Lviv where he finally got a sufficient amount of playing time taking part in 20 games for the side.
In 2011 Petro Kovalchuk signed a three-year contract with FC Chornomorets Odesa and plays there till today.
