Piotr Trochowski is a German footballer of Polish origin who plays as a midfielder for Sevilla FC and the national team of Germany.
The starting point of his career was FC St. Pauli. At the age of 15 he moved to one of the leaders of contemporary football Bayern Munich but his career path wasn’t successful there. He played for the club’s reserve team. Being dissatisfied with his position at the club and the amount of playing time he was accredited to (13 games and 1 goal in 6 years). In 2005 he made a decision to move on. Piotr went to Hamburg SV despite the interest from some other clubs.
During the season 2005/06 he got involved as a substitution in 14 games, after that he was promoted to the first team. He appeared on the pitch in 32 matches and scored 5 times drastically improving the club’s performance. In the season 2006/07 he attracted attention of Joachim Löw, the manager of the German national team, so Piotr was called up there. During the season 2006/07 Piotr made 26 appearances in Bundesliga (2 goals) and 8 in the Champions League (1 goal). During the summer break of 2008 he enjoyed the second place of his national team in the UEFA European Championship in Austria and Switzerland.
Only after all his competitors left in 2008/09 and cleared the path to the main squad for Trochowski managed to reveal his talent scoring 3 goals and making 5 assists in 13 games. On October 15, 2008 he scored one of the most beautiful goals in his career in the match against Wales.
In 2011 Trochowski signed a 4-year contract with Sevilla FC as a free agent.
