Steven Naismith was born on 14 September 1986 in Irvine, North Ayrshire, Scotland and plays for Liverpool side Everton. In 2006 he was capped for the Scotland national youth team and received his first call-up to the senior squad in 2007. Steven can perform both as a midfielder and striker.
The young footballer began his club career in 2002, when he joined the Kilmarnock academy. He made his professional début only on 24 April 2004, coming as a substitute in the Scottish Premier League match against Hibernian. The same year he managed to lift the Scottish Youth Cup with the youth team of the club.
Steven’s first goal for Kilmarnock came in the match against Heart of Midlothian on 5 February 2005. In total, the footballer made 102 appearances for his team and scored 29 goals.
After the transfer window opened in 2007, Rangers and Celtic struggled to buy Steven. On 31 August, the footballer transferred to Rangers. He made 98 appearances for the new team and netted 28 goals during five seasons before joining Everton on 4 July 2012.
