A Portuguese footballer Ricardo José Vaz Alves Monteiro, also known as Tarantini, plays as an attacking midfielder for Rio Ave. He was born on 7 October 1983 in Gestaçô.
In 2002, after penning a contract with Covilhã, Ricardo gave his professional career a start. His debut season turned to be very fortunate, as he almost immediately became the team’s anchor player. Tarantini gained his first priceless professional experience playing for the squad. In total, he made 102 appearances and netted 4 goals during a four-year spell. In 2006, the footballer was scouted by Gondomar, where he stayed for a season only. Over that period, Ricardo featured in 18 matches and netted four goals. His next season would find him playing for Portimonense in 2007. He became the head coach’s first choice as a midfielder, appearing 30 times and scoring 5 goals for the team.
In 2008, Tarantini joined Rio Ave, after a long-term contract had been signed. He continues to perform for the club up till now.
