Thulani Serero is a football player who was born on 11 April 1990 in a small town Soweto, South Africa. Serero started playing football in Ajax Cape Town’s youth academy, reaching the first team of the club before the season 2008/2009. The midfielder stayed in the side for 3 seasons, making 63 appearances and scoring 17 goals.
He made several trials with AFC Ajax, though it was not until May 2011 when he was recruited to the Dutch side and after short negotiations signed a four-year contract. He netted his first goal for Ajax in official matches on 25 August 2012 in the game against NAC Breda.
Serero made several caps for South Africa U-20 and U-23 national teams. His first cap for the national side happened on 9 February 2011 in the friendly match against Kenya. Serero scored his first goal for bafana bafana in the game against Swaziland in 2010.
