Vicente Rodríguez is a Spanish winger. He was born on 16 July 1981 in Valencia, Spain.
In 1997, Vicente penned his first professional three-year contract with Levante. The young midfielder was the most instrumental at the position of a winger, because he possessed necessary pace and assisting talent. The footballer’s appearances on the pitch were getting more and more frequent, but he failed to become a regular. Rodríguez took part in 54 fixtures and netted nine goals for the club during three years.
In 2000, the winger completed a move to Valencia, where his career went forward at a steady gait. Vicente managed to gain the head coach’s confidence and cemented a place in the main team of ‘Los Che’. The footballer made 243 appearances and amassed 36 goals for the club during 11 years.
Rodríguez was a target of various European clubs, but the first club to offer him a tempting contract was English side Brighton and Hove Albion. In the summer 2011, the winger transferred to the new team and found the net five times in 29 games during two years.
In 1997, Vicente received his first call-up to the Spain national U-16 squad and kicked one goal in 11 appearances for the team during one year. From 1998 till 2001, the player was capped 33 times and contributed eight goals for the U-17, U-18 and U-21 teams. From 2001 till 2005, Rodríguez took part in 38 games and went on to net three times for the full national squad.
