Vitali Grishin was born on 9 September 1980 in Moscow.
He became familiar with football after entering Trudovye Reservy football academy in the Russian capital. In 1997 the player joined his first professional club, FC Dynamo Moscow, where he enjoyed his first-team debut three years later. Altogether he made 97 appearances and scored four goals for the Moscow club.
The 2003/04 season he spent in Ukraine, playing for FC Vorskla Poltava. In 2004/05 the player moved back to Russia, joining the Russian First Division side Khimki.
In 2006 the footballer was offered to join FC Amkar Perm, where he wrote his name into the history of the team, scoring the first ever Europa League goal of the Russian club.
Vitali Grishin was called-up to join the Russia national U21 football team and earned eleven appearances on the way.
