Mexico has never won a match against any African country in the World Cup. Also this year the team is blitzed and just managed narrowly to qualify for the finals. on the contrary Cameroon does not have any time to waste. On the pitch, tactical variation might be a problem for the African country. Although the successful unveiling of the compact, counter-attacking 4-5-1 formation used for the first time against Germany was encouraging and is likely to be explored again in todays match. The all-time goal scorer, with 56 goals in 117 games for his country, Samuel Eto'o is the logical choice if he spearheads the attack. Joel Matip might surprise people if he starts, but Choupo-Moting being tall, quick and direct, with superb dribbling skills and three goals in three warm-up friendlies will be my favourite for the contest.
For Mexico, Giovani dos Santos and Oribe Peralta will lead the charge on Cameroons defense. The Mexicans have a better defensive players and are more likely to restrict Eto'o and Moting to fewer goals. It would have been much easier if the all time star mexican striker Carlos Vela had not refused to play for the national side.

Still enough skills in the young Mexican side to win the 1st match against Cameroon.

Watch for:

Dos Santos (Mex)

Moting (CMR)

Score Prediction:

Mexico 2 : Cameroon 1
