Cordoba is a Spanish football club from Andalusia community. The team was established in 1951.
The predecessors of the team were Racing Fútbol Club de Córdoba and Deportiva Electromecánicas. In 1954 Cordoba merged with San Álvaro de Córdoba.
In the 1960s and the 1970s the club played in the top flight for eight seasons. The highest finish in La Liga was the fifth place, yet the side was not allowed to enter the European competitions due to poor infrastructure. Overall they spent 28 seasons in the second division, 20 seasons in Segunda División (B) and 3 seasons in the third division. Nuevo Arcángel is the team’s home ground that can sit up to 18,280. In 2014 Cordoba earned sensational promotion to Primera Division.
The team is often nicknamed the Caliphs and Blanquiverdes. The colors of the home kit are white and green stripes.
