Sabadell is a Spanish football club from Catalonia. The club was organized in 1903.
The side has been competing in the national league championship since 1928. The first promotion to the second league was claimed in 1933, a dacade later the team made its debut in the top league. The longest spell in La Liga lasted for 12 years from 1965 to 1972.
In the season 1933/1934 the team won the championship of Catalan province, seven years later Sabadell played in Copa del Rey final, yet lost to Sevilla 3-0.
The best finish in the first division was the fourth place in the season 1967/1968. Consequently Sabadell received a right to compete in the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup where they were beaten by Club Brugge in the first round.The history of the team counts 14 seasons in the top tier, 41 seasons in the second division and 17 seasons in Segunda División (B).
In 1991 the club was transformed into a public limited company.
