Vorskla is a Ukrainian football club from the city of Poltava. The team was founded in 1955 under the title Kolhoznyk. In 1957 the club turned professional. During the following two decades the team changed several names, yet in 1984 it adopted the title Vorskla (referring to the river in the city of Poltava).
The side did not achieve much success in the Soviet championship, playing mainly in the third division, but in the mid-1990s Vorskla finally won a ticket to the Ukrainian Premier League. The highest achievement of the team in the top tier is the 3rd place in the season 1996/1997. The first major trophy the side claimed was the 2009 Ukrainian Cup, beating Shakhtar in the final 1-0.
The club hosts its home games at Butovsky Vorskla Stadium that can sit up to 24,795.
