Vostok

History and achievements

Vostok is a football club from Oskemen (Ust-Kamenogorsk), Kazakhstan. The club was established in 1963. The team was one of the founding members of the Kazakhstan Premier League.

The club won Kazakhstan Cup in 1994.

The highest place the side reached in the domestic championship is the 5th place in 1997 and 1998.

In 2008 Vostok was banned from playing in the Premier Lague after the side was found guilty of fixing a match against FC Shakhter. The club’s management and coaching staff were disqualified from football for 60 months, the club itself was expelled from the tournament.

The chairman of the club is Talgat Kurmagaliev. The home ground is Vostok Stadium that can sit up to 12,000.
