Alex Pastoor is a former Dutch midfielder who was born on 26 October 1966. Pastoor spent most of his playing career at FC Volendam, playing for the team from 1989 to 1995. In 1995 Pastoor signed a deal with SC Heerenveen, where he made 63 appearances in two seasons.
Before the season 1998/1999 Pastoor moved to Belgium, where he played for the club Harelbeke, but a season later he joined the Austrian side Austria Lustenau, where he stayed till 2001.
One year after leaving professional football Pastoor made his first steps in coaching when he was appointed as AZ youth manager. Three years later Pastoor took spot of manager in the amateur side AFC‘34. After working as a reserve coach at Fenerbahçe in 2005 and an assistant coach in SC Heerenveen from 2005 to 2008, he was appointed as the head coach of SBV Excelsior and under his helm the small team earned promotion to the top flight.
In 2011 Pastoor was introduced as the boss of NEC Nijmegen.
