Eric Hely is a former French footballer and currently a coach.
He was born on October 25, 1964 in Dourdan. In 2012, he became head coach of Sochaux.
Eric began his career at the age of 14 in Sochaux. Even after winning the European Under-18 Championship, he could not completely make it to the main squad having played only two matches in it. Later he mainly played for French Second division clubs: Brest, Chamois Niort, Olympique d’Ales, SO Chatellerault, CS-Louhans Cuiseaux and again СВ Chatellerault (1983-1993).
Hely began to work as coach mastering his skills at the age of 29. He began his new career in SO Chatellerault and later was in charge of Saint-Jean-De-Maurienne and AS Beaune.
Later he won Coupe Gambardella in 2003 and 2007. Afterwards, he was appointed Sochaux coach in 2012 replacing Mecha Bazdarevic. At the beginning of April the club won thrice and lost once. In the end, in last 12 games Sochaux won seven times which helped them to finish fourteenth.
