Peter Vermes is an American coach and former professional footballer. He was born on 21 November 1966 in Willingboro, New Jersey, the United States.
Peter began his professional career at the Hungarian club Rába ETOFC in 1989 and went on with the Dutch side Volendam from the top tier. In between 1991 and 1995, Vermes played for such clubs as Tampa Bay Rowdies, Figueres and New York Fever. In 1996, he joined MetroStars in an inaugural MLS season. However, the next season Vermes was transferred to Colorado Rapids amassing 98 appearances throughout a three-year spell. In 2000, the player signed for Kansas City Wizards, later renamed in Sporting Kansas City, where he featured in 78 matches before the retirement in 2002. Since 1988 till 1997, Vermes earned 67 international caps to the United States national team.
Peter Vermes took up coaching in August 2009 when he was appointed the interim coach for Sporting Kansas City. In November 2009, he became the head coach of the club.
