Stefano Pioli is a former Italian football player and a manager. Poli was born in Parma and started playing in the local team. After spending two seasons in the side, Pioli moved to Juventus where he made his debut in Serie A. After two seasons in Verona, he transferred to Fiorentina, staying there for six years and appearing in 154 matches. Pioli finished his playing career in Fiorenzuola in 1998.
Stefano Pioli entered into coaching in 1999, working with the youth team of Bologna. The Italian tactician worked with Piacenza, Sassuolo, Chievo, Palermo, Salernitana Modena and Parma. While heading Grosseto Pioli helped the team to stay in the mid-table in their first run in Serie B.
Bologna appointed Stefano Pioli as a head coach on 4 October 2011. In January 2014 Pioli was released from the club.
In June 2014 Pioli was appointed S.S.Lazio manager.
