Rafael da Silva is a back of Manchester United. He was born on 9 July 1990 in Petrópolis, Brazil.
He began his youth career joining the Fluminense academy. The young Brazilian entered the academy when he was a teenager and the management included him in the youth team. He also had been training there during three years till 2008, and became one of the best trainees. Rafael attracted the attention of Manchester United scouts that were looking for a young back. After a demonstration match, da Silva was offered to become a part of the ‘Red Devils’. Rafael had just turned 18 and he signed a professional contract with one of the best clubs in the world alongside his twin brother Fabio.
From 2008 da Silva has been playing for Manchester United and nowadays he is a regular, who has taken part in 52 league matches for the club and scored two goals.
In 2007 Rafael was capped 12 times for the Brazil national U-17 team and netted one goal. In 2012 Rafael was invited to play for the senior national team.
