Adam Thompson is a defender of Watford. He was born on 28 September 1992 in Harlow, England.
Adam spent several years in the academy of Watford, performed for various youth squads and took part in different junior competitions. By the end of 2009, the footballer passed a series of special tests, which showed he was ready for a professional start. Thompson got many positive reviews from the coaching staff and pundits, which helped him to clinch a place in the main squad.
In 2010, the defender penned his first professional contract with Watford and intensified his training to become a regular. In 2011, Adam was sent on loan to Brentford and made eight appearances for the temporary team during the first half of the 2011/2012 season. The management of ‘The Bees’ extended Thompson’s spell for another half a year and gave the defender an opportunity to feature in 12 matches. Later on Thompson had a loan run with Southend United.
Adam was capped 18 times for the Republic of Ireland national U-17, U-19 and U-21 squads. In 2011, the player took part in two games for the senior national team.
