Anders Lindegaard began his career in Odense Boldklub that played in Danish Superliga. He made his debut in November 2006 in a 3-1 victory against Silkeborg IF.
In November 2010 mass media reported that Manchester United was interested in Lindegaard. Peter Schmeichel, the ex-goalkeeper of the ‘Red Devils’, announced Lindegaard was not ready to regularly play in the English Premier League. However, on 27 November Anders signed a three-and-a-half year contract with Manchester United. The transfer fee was not disclosed. Anders started training with the team and on 1 January 2011 he officially became a player of the club. On 29 January the goalkeeper made his debut for the new team in a victory against Southampton in the FA Cup Fourth Round. Anders made a total of 13 appearances for the English club and conceded eight goals. Nowadays he is shadowed by a talented Spanish keeper David De Gea.
Lindegaard was capped five times for the Denmark national team and conceded only two goals.
