Andile Jali was born on April 10, 1990 in Matatiele, Eastern Cape, South Africa. Currently he plays as defensive midfielder for Orlando Pirates.
He spent his youth career at Hot Spurs (2002-2005) and Matat Professionals (2006-2007). In 2007 he sealed his first professional deal with Pretoria University. He has made 29 appearances scoring one goal for the Pretoria side.
In 2009 the highly-rated youngster has joined Orlando Pirates. Jali has made almost an immediate impact impressing the fans with a string of excellent performances. He was an integral part of the side that has won the treble under the Dutch coach Ruud Krol.
Jali has played an important role in youth the South Africa national teams (U-20 and U-23) and was named in preliminary 30-man South Africa squad for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. However he was dropped out of the squad due to heart problems. He is touted by the media as a future skipper of Bafana Bafana due to his ability of motivating and firing up his team mates in difficult situations.
Jali has made 15 appearances for Orlando Pirates this season scoring 4 goals and setting up another one as of December, 2012.
