Andreas Weimann is a striker of Aston Villa. He was born on 5 August 1991 in Vienna, Austria.
The footballer’s youth career took off in 1998, when he joined the academy of Stadlau. Andreas had to start with one of youth teams of the club, where he performed for some time before getting an opportunity to become a part of the older squad. In 2005 the striker went on a trial to Rapid Vienna, whose scouts had been observing his progress. However, the final decision concerning his transfer was made after a demonstration game, where Weimann proved to be a talented player worth joining the youth team of the new club. During two years in the Vienna side academy, the footballer drew the attention of Aston Villa.
The English club wished to win the Austrian striker over to their youth system and made a tempting offer to Rapid Vienna. The parties agreed Andreas’s transfer in 2007 and the footballer was getting ready to the professional start till 2010.
In 2010 Weimann sealed a deal and officially became a senior footballer of Aston Villa. The striker was given an opportunity to come on the field 15 times, and he repaid by netting two goals during the 2010/2011 season. The following year Andreas went on loan to Watford.
From 2006 till 2009, Weimann was capped 23 times and contributed ten goals for the Austria national U-17, U-19, U-20 and U-21 teams.
