Andrei Karyaka is a Russian midfielder, who was born in the Ukranian city Dnipropetrovsk on 1 April 1978.
In 1995 Andrei joined his first professional club FC Metalurh Zaporizhya, where he debuted on 23 March 1996 in the Ukranian Premier League fixture against his hometown side FC Dnipro. In November 1996 the player scored his first professional goal against FC Karpaty Lviv.
In 1998 Karyaka joined FC CSKA Kyiv from where he moved to FC Krylia Sovetov Samara in the summer of 2000. In 2002 the player was named the team’s best goalscorer with 12 goals in 28 appearances. In 2004 he became the second best goalscorer of the Russian Premier League. Altogether, Karyaka scored 49 goals in 130 league appearances for Krylia Sovetov.
In 2005 the club’s management sold the player to the Portuguese side Benfica, where he was named The Man of The Match on his debut. However, in 2007 Andrei returned to Russia, where he chose to play for FC Saturn. The midfielder immediately became a solid first-team player and made a total of 108 appearances during his three-year stint at the club.
After the club’s dissolution, Andrei signed a contract with FC Dynamo Moscow on 10 February 2011. A year later the midfielder moved to FC Volga Nizhny Novgorod and plays for the club till today.
Andrei Karyaka was an international for the Russia national team since 2001 till 2005 amassing 27 appearances.
