A Brazilian footballer Marcos Arouca da Silva performs as a midfielder for Santos. Marcos was born on 11 August 1986 in Duas Barras.
In 2000, Arouca entered the academy of Fluminense. After progressing on the club’s youth categories, Marcos made his professional debut in 2004, when the contract was penned. His professional career at Fluminense would span for four years. Whilst playing for the squad, Marcos earned priceless performing experience and gained his first honors. In 2005, the midfielder together with the main team won the Rio de Janeiro State League. He also became the holder of the 2007 Copa do Brasil. Altogether, the midfielder made 122 appearances amassing 8 goals.
Arouca’s fabulous performance was noticed by various clubs that would be delighted to have a player of his scale at their disposal. In 2009, the midfielder was scouted by São Paulo. He spent the 2009/2010 season defending the club. He featured in 21 fixtures and was decided to be loaned to Santos. Marcos managed a fabulous performance for the temporary club giving a plenty of assist in winning the 2010 Copa do Brasil and the 2010 São Paulo State League. After such a success Arouca’s move was made permanent. The midfielder continued to perform for the club adding another two state leagues to his honors (in 2011 and 2012). He clinched into the first XI and became the squad’s anchor player. In 2011, he attained the victory at the Copa Libertadores under the flag of Santos. The following year, his team attained a victory at the 2012 Recopa Sudamericana. Arouca has already appeared more than 145 times for the squad.
In 2012, Marcos gained his first call for the full side of his motherland.
