Clément Grenier is a midfielder at Lyon. He was born on 7 January 1991 in a French commune Annonay.
Clément’s youth career began in 1997 when he joined the youth team of the football club Annonay. Grenier attended the club’s football academy and played for the youth team up to 2002. In summer 2002 scouts from Lyon came to select young talents for the club. Clément was one of the juniors to join Lyon football academy. Clément was a member of the club’s academy until 2008, playing for the youth team and at the same time being trained.
In 2008 Clément’s youth career ended as he was offered a transfer to the first team of the club and a professional contract with Lyon. For the young midfielder this offer was the chance he did not want to miss. The footballer signed a long-term contract with the club. Grenier attracted attention of not just French but other leading European clubs. Spanish Real Madrid, Italian Milan, English Arsenal and Chelsea were interested in the footballer. However he stood by Lyon for which he is playing today.
From 2007 to 2011 Clément featured for France national youth teams aged from 16 to 20. During 4 years Clément Grenier appeared in 52 matches in all youth national teams and scored 12 goals. In 2012 Clément was invited to play for France national U-21 team.
