Connor Wickham is a striker of Sunderland. He was born on 31 March 1993 in Hereford, England.
In 2002 Connor was asked to join one of Reading youth teams and made his way up the academy ladder by 2006, when he moved to the youth system of Ipswich Town. During three years, Wickham developed his best striker qualities that he used in the matches of various junior teams he played for.
In 2009 Connor ended his preparations for the professional start and plunged into senior football right after he penned a contract with Ipswich Town. The striker got an opportunity to come on the pitch in the starting line-up, which was the most important moment in his entire career. Wickham coped with that task perfectly and got his performance to the new level. The footballer made 65 appearances and amassed 13 goals during two seasons.
In 2011 Connor finalized a move to Sunderland. The head coach of the club occasionally let the player on the pitch and Wickham managed to get on the scoresheet by kicking one goal in 26 matches for ‘The Black Cats’.
In 2013 Wickham was loaned to Sheffield Wednesday.
From 2008 till 2010, the footballer was capped 24 times and contributed 11 goals for the England national U-16, U-17, U-19 and U-21 squads.
