Conor Sammon is a striker of Derby County. He was born on 6 November 1986 in Dublin, Ireland.
Conor’s professional career took off in 2005, when the footballer penned his first senior contract with U.C.D. Sammon developed his best qualities during two years and a half, which helped him to come on the pitch in the starting line-up and net 13 goals in 69 fixtures for the club.
In January 2008, the striker transferred to Derry City and fired three goals in 16 matches for the new team during six months. The same year, Conor attracted the attention of Kilmarnock scouts and was invited to the club in the summer 2008. The footballer made 65 appearances and amassed 17 goals for ‘Killie’ during three years.
In the summer 2011, Sammon completed a move to English side Wigan Athletic and sealed a long-term deal with the team. The striker took part in the best part of games during the season and gained the head coach’s confidence, but failed to cement a regular place and put pen to paper of a contract with Derby County in the summer 2012. Conor featured in 19 matches and found the net four times for ‘The Rams’ as of December 2012.
In 2007, the footballer was capped three times for the Republic of Ireland national U-21 squad.
