Daniel Williams was born on 8 March 1989 in Karlsruhe, Germany. He is a German-born American football player. However, at an international level he performs for the USA.
Williams began his career in his native town at Karlsruher SC. Later he transferred to SC Freiburg, playing for the youth and reserve systems. In 2008 the player won the German championship together with the youth team. In the summer of 2008, Williams played for the reserve team of SC Freiburg playing as a defensive midfielder. At that time he appeared on the pitch in a 2-0 victory against Vfl Wolfsburg. In Regionalliga Daniel played in 60 matches, netting a total of 4 goals. On 22 January 2010, he debuted for the first team of SC Freiburg in a 0-1 defeat to Stuttgart. Nevertheless, Williams himself got high votes from the coaches, and on 31 August 2011, he was transferred to TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. Having signed a new contract he made 46 appearances for the club. Later on he was offered a contract with an English side Reading.
At the national level Daniel debuted playing for the German U-15 team. It was the only international match for that team. Shortly after that he switched to the American team, making his debut on 8 October 2011.
