Dawda Bah was born on 12 November 1983 in Banjul, Gambia. Dawda usually plays as a left-wing midfielder. He started his career at his hometown club Banjul Hawks in the second division of the Gambian League in 2002.
In 2005, Bah joined the Finnish First Division club Kokkolan Palloveikot, where he scored 27 goals in 49 matches. He also played one game for FC Kipparit, which is the third division club, and he scored one goal for the team.
In 2007, the Gambian player was invited to one of the most powerful clubs of the Finnish top-tier Veikkausliiga known as Helsinki Jalkapalloklubi, where he played in the first team for four years. In total, Bah performed in 101 matches and scored 19 goals for the club. Together with the capital team, he showed great results in the Finnish league and the Champions League qualifications, becoming one of the Finnish Champions and the winners of the Finnish Cup.
On 30 August 2011, Dawda Bah was transferred to the German Bundesliga side FC Augsburg. The footballer signed a contract with the club in June 2013, worth 200,000 euros. On 9 September 2011, in the fifth round of the season Bah made his debut in the Bundesliga in a home game against Bayer entering the fray in the 77th minute. That match, however, was lost by a score 1-4. Five days later, he sustained a knee injury and was not able to play till the end of the season. He was later released from the German club. Later on Bah joined a Finnish side KuPS.
At the international level, Dawda Bah has had 9 appearances for the Gambia national team since the year 2000. In addition, he participated in the 2002 and 2006 World Cup qualifications.
