A Brazilian footballer Deivid de Souza plays as a striker for Coritiba. He was born on 22 October 1979.
Deivid was born in Nova Iguaçu, so it’s obvious that his career started at the local club, where he was groomed during a season. In 1999, the striker moved to Joinville, but he spent there only few months and moved to Santos. He played for the club during two seasons, making 129 appearances and amassing 66 goals.
In 2001, a three-year contract was penned with Corinthians. In 2002, Souza was honored with Copa do Brasil. In 2003, a move to Cruzeiro happened. During the spell the striker again gained Copa do Brasil and won the 2003 Brazilian Série A.
In 2003, Deivid moved to France, where he played for Bordeaux. During the spell with the French club the Brazilian footballer was loaned out by Santos. In 2005, a new contract was signed with the Portuguese club Sporting Lisbon. He made 36 appearances and netted 9 goals for the main squad.
The period from 2006 to 2010, the striker spent playing for the Turkish club Fenerbahçe. Together with the team Deivid won the Turkish Super Cup (two times: in 2007 and 2009) and during the 2007/2008 season the squad became the Quarter-finalist in the UEFA Champions League. In 2010, the footballer moved to Brazil, where he joined Flamengo. In 2011, the striker was awarded with Taça Guanabaran and Taça Rio. In 2012, Deivid joined Coritiba. He continues to perform for the club.
