Dmitri Tarasov was born on March 18, 1987 in Moscow. Currently plays a midfielder for FC Lokomotiv Moscow.
When a boy Dmitri decided to take up football despite his father’s strong willing to engage his son in karate and started playing in the youth system of FC Spartak Moscow. In 2004, the player was included in the youth side of the club where he spent 2 seasons whereupon joined FC Tom Tomsk. In 2009, the midfielder was scouted for FC Moscow where he really showed his paces making the Russian national team head coach Gus Hiddink pay attention on him. During 2009 Tarasov scored 2 goals in 25 matches and took part in one of the national squad’s training camps.
Dmitri Tarasov always longed for professional advancement and that is the reason he decided to change the squad at the end of the season. Hereby in winter 2009 the player signed for Lokomotiv Moscow, its coach Yuri Semin taking great interest in the young midfielder. In November 2009, Tarasov was awarded the Master of Sport of Russia rank. On April 4, 2010 the footballer netted his debut goal for Lokomotiv.
In 2007/08, Dmitri Tarasov represented the Russia U-21 national football team. In October 2009, the midfielder was called up to the senior national squad and made his debut in the 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifier versus Azerbaijan. In October 2012, Fabio Capello called the player up to participate in the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualification matches against the national teams of Portugal and Aserbaijan.
Dmitri Tarasov was married twice. Has a child of the first marriage. Currently he is married to the Russian TV-star Olga Busova.
