A Brazilian footballer Edson José da Silva plays as a central defender for São Paulo. He was born on 9 May 1986 in Agua Preta.
Edson’s the product of the youth system of Corinthians-AL, where he studied football in its minutest details and performed for various junior teams. He won the 2004 Campeonato Alagoano under the flag of Corinthians. The defender started his professional career with the club, debuting with the senior squad in 2007.
In 2008, Silva moved to Botafogo. At first he had to spend some time among the substitute players, but within some time he started to be increasingly used as the team’s regular. Nevertheless, the contract wasn’t extended and the footballer joined Fortaleza in 2009. He made 32 appearances and netted 2 goals for the club. In 2010, Edson defended Boavista-RJ and moved to Duque de Caxias.
In 2011, a year-long contract was penned with Figueirense. The time spent with the club turned to be very fortunate for Silva, as his game was noticed and highly appreciated by the other Brazilian clubs. In 2012, the footballer got an offer from São Paulo. He took proposal without hesitations, as he considered it a fortune to join the club, where a legendary Rogério Mücke Ceni performs.
