Eldin Jakupović is a goalkeeper of Hull City. He was born on 2 October 1984 in Kozarac, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The footballer has a dual citizenship – Bosnian and Swiss.
Eldin performed for various semi-professional teams till 1999, when he managed to draw the attention of Grasshopper scouts. In 2004, the footballer joined the main squad of the club and made 13 appearances during one season. In 2005, Jakupović transferred to FC Thun and propelled the new team to the Champions League group stage spot. In 2006, the keeper finalized a move Russian side Lokomotiv Moscow, but spent almost all time on loan at Grasshopper, where he took part in 57 matches and even managed to score a goal.
In 2010, Eldin’s contract with the Russian club expired, and the footballer went to Greece, where Olympiakos Volou and Aris saw him make 37 appearances till 2012.
In 2012, the keeper sealed a deal with English side Hull City.
In 2005, Jakupović started to perform for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national U-21 squad, but decided to join the Switzerland national U-21 team one year later. In 2008, the footballer was called up to the senior national squad.
