Ezequiel Muñoz is an Argentine footballer born on 8 October 1990 in Pergamino, Argentina, who currently plays as a defender for Italian Palermo.
He was formed in the youth ranks of Boca Juniors signing his first professional contract with the club in 2009. Ezequiel made his Argentine League debut for the club in a 0-1 loss to Estudiantes de La Plata in the course of the 2009 Clausura tournament. Overall, he played in 17 games with Boca Juniors in the 2009/10 campaign.
In 2010, his constantly good club performances drew Palermo’s close attention to a promising centre back, and in August 2010, Italian side bought out his contract from Boca Juniors.
Muñoz made his Rosaneri debut in the second leg of the 2010/11 UEFA Europa League play-off round against Slovenian NK Maribor on 26 August 2010. An Argentine player had his first Serie A match on 29 August 2010 against Cagliari.
Ezequiel Muñoz was capped up to the Argentina national team by its supremo Diego Maradona for a friendly game against Panama in 2009. But he had to baulk at the golden chance because of having sustained a knee injury.
