A Brazilian footballer Fábio Costa plays as a goalkeeper for the reserve team of Santos. He was born on 27 November 1977.
Fábio started his junior career at the academies of his motherland, but he also spent a year at the youth department of the Dutch PSV Eindhoven. But there he had no future prospects, so the young goalkeeper opted to return to Brazil and to end his youth career at Vitória. In 1997, he graduated to the club’s senior team and played for it during the following 2 years.
In 2000, Costa joined Santos, where the most fortunate period in his professional career passed. In 2000, he took part in the Pre-Olympic Tournament and in 2002 together with the squad won the Brazilian League.
The 2004/2005 season passed playing for Corinthians. In 2006, the goalkeeper was welcomed back to Santos. But he lost his place in the main squad, so he had to be satisfied with occasional appearances only. The footballer didn’t get enough playing time, that’s why he was loaned out by Atlético Mineiro was taken. Fábio spent the 2010/2011 season with the temporary club, featuring in 16 matches.
In 2013 he was loaned to Serie B side São Caetano.
Costa was called up 6 times for the Brazil national squad during the 1999/2000 season.
