Gao Zhilin was born on 8 January 1991 in Wuhua, China. Gao started his football career in the youth squad of Chengdu Blades. He began playing professionally with Sheffield United, Hong Kong where he moved on loan in 2008. Zhilin made 5 appearances for his temporary team.
In 2010 Gao joined Guangzhou Evergrande. During the first year the footballer played for the youth squad of the club. Zhilin made his first team debut on 4 May 2011. In June 2011 the player made his Super League debut, and on 6 August 2011 he kicked his first goal in a match against Qingdao Jonoon. During the season Gao Zhilin scored 3 goals in 13 matches and helped his team to win the 2011 Chinese Super League title for the first time in the club’s history.
Nowadays Gao Zhilin continues to feature for Guangzhou Evergrande. He’s one of the youngest and the most promising players of this Chinese club.
