Gianni Zuiverloon is a back of Den Haag. He was born on 30 December 1986 in Rotterdam, Netherlands.
Zuiverloon started to play football in the academy of Feyenoord in 1993. The young player impressed the coaching staff of the club, and they were glad to offer him a place in the youth team. Gianni performed for various junior squads during 11 years till he moved to the main team.
Then head coach Ruud Gullit chose Zuiverloon as a substitute for a regular player of Feyenoord and let him make his first professional appearance in the match against Willem II on 22 August 2004. The footballer featured in ten games for the club during his first season, but the management decided to give him an opportunity to get more playing practice. That is why Gianni was sent on loan to RKC Waalwijk, where he took part in 26 matches during the 2005/2006 season.
In June 2006, the back penned a three-year contract with Heerenveen. He made 60 appearances and netted three goals during two years with the new club.
On 2 July 2008, Zuiverloon sealed a deal with Premier League side West Bromwich Albion. The footballer made his début for the team in the victory over Everton. On 3 February 2009, Gianni fired his first goal for the English club in the FA Cup match against Burnley. The 2-0 loss to Liverpool took ‘The Baggies’ to the Championship after only one season in the top division. In the following season, the back was given the place of a regular by new head coach Roberto Di Matteo. Gianni scored his first Championship goal in the match against Watford on 31 October and continued to increase his goal tally by finding the net of Scunthorpe United and Cardiff City. The footballer’s third season was not that fruitful, because he began to make fewer appearances, but he was given an opportunity to make three League Cup starts. On 22 September 2010, Zuiverloon netted a goal in the League Cup 2-1 victory over Manchester City.
The player was sent on loan to Ipswich Town, but soon returned to his parent club due to the lack of defenders. His last game for West Bromwich came on 1 January 2011, when ‘The Baggies’ encountered Fulham. On 25 May 2011, Gianni and a number of his teammates left the club. All in all, the footballer made 65 appearances and chipped in four goals for the English squad during three years (excluding his loan spell).
On 10 July 2011, the back sealed a three-year deal with Spanish side Mallorca and made his début for the new club on 29 August 2011 in the game versus Espanyol.
In the summer 2012, Zuiverloon completed a move to Heerenveen on loan.
On year later Zuiverloon signed a permanent deal with Den Haag.
